The LMR-10 Series of Electronic Load Monitors provide a unique modern solution for the monitoring and protection of any motor driven machinery.
These devices monitor TRUE motor torque/power using specially designed proprietary electronic circuitry (developed by Synctek) that provides extremely accurate, fast and a Linear response to all motor load conditions.  The LMR-10 Load Monitor Relay can be used with ANY size motor, is EASY to install and requires NO special mechanical alterations or wiring to existing equipment. Existing CT's may be used for monitoring any motor power rating to provide a motor-load protection system that will save your plant and machinery from costly repairs and production downtime. Using the LMR-10 eliminates costly and very time consuming mechanical repairs and or plant "down time". The highly reliable electronic circuitry in the LMR-10 itself means that absolutely no maintenance is required after initial commissioning. The LMR-10 can be used to provide extremely fast overload protection when used as an Electronic Shock Relay, and or Electronic Shear Pin - potentially saving you many thousands of dollars. All functions are fully adjustable!

The LMR-10 provides fully automatic torque overload protection that makes all past and present mechanical protection devices obsolete. No more unreliable shear pins, clutches or other torque limiting devices are required. Because the LMR-10 senses “real power” it can also provide many other useful power/torque monitoring functions as well, some of the more common applications are listed in the table below. The LMR-10 is typically - 10 times more sensitive than simple current monitoring devices because it senses true input power. It is extremely accurate and very responsive to even small changes in load power, the LMR-10 automatically compensates for changes in power factor by unique circuitry developed by SYNCTEK. The LMR-10 has two built-in set points that can be used for a number of applications. The HIGH SET POINT will activate on increasing loads, while the LOW SET POINT will activate on decreasing loads. Individually programmable time delays are built in to the system. these will delay any trip functions until a set time is exceeded - thus avoiding nuisance tripping and false alarms under different circumstances. The LMR-10 also provides as standard an analog output signal 0-13v (a 4-20mA option is also available) which may be connected to external monitoring and or recording equipment (e.g. data loggers, chart-recorders, PLC's). The built-in load meter displays actual percentage load - this provides an accurate indication of the monitored process. The built-in meter display is also used to directly read & display the set point values - making adjustments extremely simple. Wider Calibration is set via an 10 way DIP switch which is pre-set for most power ranges up to 350KW, an internal FINE trimpot may also be used for non-standard loads if desired The LMR-10 does NOT simply measure CURRENT as in many other load protection relays on the market. The LMR-10 measures POWER which is a linear quantity, a change in load will thus provide a direct change in power. Simply monitoring motor currents for example does not give a linear function of load. At small loads the motor current does not vary a great deal - the quantity that changes is the motor power factor (PF). This can vary typically from 0.1 to 0.9 for most motors as load changes from no-load to full load. The power factor is the Cosine of the angle (or delay) between the motor voltage and motor current - In most motors the current always LAGS the voltage. For most motors the power factor will improve as the load is increased in a NON - LINEAR fashion as shown below.
